Jan 20, 2012: According to Corona del Sol basketball coach Sam Duane Jr., coaches from Southern California, Stanford, Nebraska and Florida State have attended games and practicing trying to get more looks at Peat.
But Peat still isn't leaning towards one school with Signing Day coming Feb. 1.
Jan. 10, 2012: All-American offensive tackle Andrus Peat of Tempe Corona del Sol said that Arizona State's new coaches have reached out to him, but he feels it is too late in the recruiting process to develop a relationship and has eliminated the Sun Devils. He said he has narrowed his list to Stanford, Nebraska, Southern California and Florida State. He will take an official recruiting trip to USC this weekend, the same time Scottsdale Saguaro running back D.J. Foster takes his.
Dec. 20, 2011: Peat has narrowed his list to Stanford, USC, Florida State and Nebraska. His brother Todd Peat Jr., is a freshman defensive lineman at Nebraska. Rivals.com rates Peat as the 14th top overall prospect in the class of 2012. Scout.com rates Peat No.3 overall in the country. Peat, whose father Todd Sr., played in the NFL, including a stint with the Arizona Cardinals, said he isn't favoring any one school. "They are all even and I'm just going to keep evaluating these four schools," Peat said. He hasn't ruled out ASU. "I would be willing to talk to them and hear them out if they contact me," said Peat, who added that he is planning on visiting Southern California and Florida State in January.
July 17, 2011: Rated the No. 1 overall prospect in America for the class of 2012 by The Sporting News, which calls his upside "immeasurable." Peat told the publication "I just want to go to a school where I’m wanted bad. I really want a school that will recruit me hard, just a place that I fit in best. If it’s halfway across the country … I’ll go there.”
June 29, 2011: Peat names his 10 finalists: Arizona State, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Stanford, Texas, USC. Also has offers from Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Clemson, Duke, Miami, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northern Illinois, Oregon State, San Diego State, UCLA, Wake Forest, Washington. There is no timetable to when he will commit. He could wait until the February national letter of intent day like his brother Todd Jr., did last year when he announced he was signing with Nebraska.
